Bob Croslin is a Florida-based commercial and editorial photographer. After graduating with a degree in photojournalism from the University of Florida, Croslin worked on staff at The Tampa Tribune, MSNBC.com and the St. Petersburg Times, before deciding to embark on a freelance career.
Whether he's photographing extravagant hip-hop culture for magazines such as Rides, flamboyant athletes for ESPN The Magazine, or chimpanzees with cameras for Smithsonian Magazine, Croslin's work gives us a look at his subjects beyond the popular hype. His work shows us the soul beneath the bling, the grace and humility beneath the swagger, the spark of personality dwelling in every set of eyes. And the photography industry is taking notice. In January 2011, Photo District News awarded him First Place in The Shot contest for a picture he made of Tennessee Titan Chris Johnson for Men's Fitness.
Croslin's ability to communicate beyond expert photographic technique is exactly what makes his commercial work so successful. Recent campaigns for Burger King, DirectTV and World Wresting Entertainment deliver their message with an edgy style modern audiences expect.
His work has appeared in ESPN The Magazine, Men's Fitness, Time, XXL, Vibe and other urban publications.
Croslin lives in the Tampa Bay area with his wife and daughter and cycles more than 150 miles a week when he is not shooting.
