Henny Boogert (1962) began in 1983 with his specialization in photography at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy. His work is typified by a process in which action and dynamics play a major role. On many of his photographs we see people moving, no glamor, with emphasis on the purity of the action and the emotions and facial expressions associated thereto.

Life in Mathare, Africa, February 2010

Published April 13th, 2012

Here is my street photo series with just the top shots about life in the Mathare slums in Nairobi, Kenya Africa.

It was quite awful, rubbish and refuse everywhere, not unexpected but to experience it in real life is something... 500,000 people live here in the Mathare slums. It's insane.
