This picture was really important to me for several reasons: the concept, the model, the time I shot it...
The model is my dear friend Sonalii Castillo, and we got up at the crack of dawn to shoot this picture. Sometimes it is so refreshing getting up early and watching the first light hit the town. In fact, there is nothing more inspiring to me than that moment. We got to laugh our way through the morning as I covered her in baby powder on a very cold morning. It was uncomfortable, but we both enjoyed it so much it was priceless.

Anticipation had been building for the Project Imagin8ion film premiere. For those who are not familiar with the project, it was a contest run by Canon and spearheaded by director Ron Howard where 8 photographs were chosen to inspire a short film. My photo “Running from Wind” was chosen as the winner of the “Time” category, and so my image inspired the time period of the film. However, it went much deeper than that, to my shock and surprise!
