Carl Abrams

Carl has been taking images for many years but was frustrated with the costs and timescales involved with wet film. In 2008, Carl purchased a bridge digital camera and has progressed through various models to today's 5DMkii. With no formal training, Carl uses light and composition to create landscape images fit to hang on any wall.

Many hours will be spent pouring over weather forecasts, Ordnance Survey maps, tide tables, Google Earth and many others. An image is created in the mind days, weeks, even months before visiting a location. Then the waiting starts, setting up in the dark and shooting long exposures of start trails, through the stages of pre-dawn and catching the first rays of sunlight. Dawn is most definitely the preferred time of day.

As with all photographers, Carl develops skills in various techniques, enabling him to make the very best use of every location and weather.
