I went on safari in Botswana in December, and absolutely loved seeing these animals up close.

Elephants at the watering hole

So cool to see the elephants crossing the rivers and playing at the watering holes in Botswana

A rare sighting: leopards

These were impressive to watch. They were a brother and sister pair who were roaming the Okavanga Delta together.

Hyenas cooling off

They had just finished yelling (barking?) at another clan, and then went to cool off in the water. The ranger said they weren't happy.

Warthogs running out of their warren

The mother ran out first, followed quickly by 3 babies. Surprised us all!

Zebras grazing

I didn't realize their stripes extended exactly into their mane - beautiful.

Gentle giraffe

They walk so majestically, I could have watched them for hours.

Elephant eating

This little guy seemed so happy, we watched him for quite awhile.

Hungry hungry hippo

They rarely came out of the river or water holes, so it was uncommon to see this hippo walking on the bank.
