James Charnesky

I started working in black and white film photography in my teens. I studied photojournalism for a while in college. In regards to color, I shot a lot in Kodachrome. In the mid 80's I put my Nikon cameras down and really did little with photography for years. I always liked working in the darkroom as much as shooting and I had no access to a good darkroom.

About six years ago I purchased a digital SLR and started working with the medium again. I am still a novice when it comes to digital photography and, not surprisingly, I gravitate towards a style that emulates the look of the old color positive slide film. Recently I purchased a D-800 and am working more with HDR.

I use Photoshop very little and mostly work directly within Lightroom with plugins. I hope you enjoy the photos.
