Photographing subjects, places and events to present as a reportage is an enticing aspiration. I am however aware that no reportage can fully reveal the essence of reality which escapes both from my eyes and my camera. But what breaks down the barriers between the meaning and what is of critical importance, is the emotion which I feel while I'm photographing, which my subjects convey to me and which I hope to transfer to those who wish to be involved. My reportage? It's a story full of emotions that speaks of the passion and love for what I'm photographing.
Even when I feel the need to express a concept, I use the light, the shadows, the contrasts and the shapes with the aim to create emotive feelings, before reason discovers its meaning.
When there are no significant meanings because I express myself entirely with the effects created by contrasting colours and the movement of shapes, I rely on reciprocal emotion perception.
My main aim with every shot is to communicate emotions.
