I am a professional steel worker and an amateur photographer living in the foothills of east Tennessee. I have traveled the east coast and into the mid-west, living in Dallas for a number of years but I always come back to Tennessee. I enjoy being in the mountains and the Smoky Mountains park, the vast majority of my photos are taken there. Right now I am shooting with a Canon 5DII and 75% of the time a 135mm f2 L attached to it. The rest of the time it is my 50mm f1.4 and sometimes the old EF 20-35 3.5-4.5. All my photos are shot in raw and get some love in Lightroom and occasionally Photoshop. I have a bad habit of pushing my images too far, too punchy, too processed. If you see any of that be my guest to let me know, I have no problems with critiques.

After 4 years at flickr I decided to check out something new and WOW, I've found it here. I have to say I am impressed and to some extent intimidated by some beautiful images I've seen here so far. Hopefully this will help push me to improve.

I have been known (hell, my whole family has been known) to be obsessive and since early 2007 I have been obsessing about photography. I guess that is a good thing, it keeps me busy. And while my co-workers are blowing money on things they really shouldn't, I have found that this obsession eats most of my disposable income so even if I was tempted, I don't have the cash.

So, what are you going to see from me? Mostly landscapes and wildlife of the Smoky Mountains National Park and surrounding areas.
