Christopher Hibbert

Photographer and Light Painter
In 2006, after three years studying hospitality management, I decided to become a professional photographer. I acquired the knowledge reading forums and tutorials available on the internet.

I worked first as a concert photographer. At this time, I started focusing on Light and I realized I could control it to add some effects to my photographs. A few months later, in May 2006, the first light painting of the series "Light is Life" was shot: " Rendez-Vous ". This photograph shot in Bougival, the town where I grew up, shows two light characters meeting in a Park.

The characters shown on the light paintings are hand drawn while the scene is shot, using flashlights and different luminous accessories. The shutter speed varies from 5 seconds to more than 15 minutes. The most important part of my photographs is the background used for the light painting. I always start looking for places that inspire me before adding characters to the scenes. These images are not realized using software.

Nikonist born in 1983, I live in Paris (France) where I keep working on the light painting series. I am also working as an event photographer (parties, weddings, concerts) and I realize light painting animations for private and corporate events.
I present five photographs in the galleries YellowKorner from the "Light is Life" series.

A light painting tutorial is avalaible on my website and blog (if help needed)
