For the past 20 years, all my decisions involved what was right for my family. Fortunately, this has brought me on an artistic journey. Although, my path to this creative endeavor was unconventional, all my experiences have pointed me into the direction of photography. Always I remember loving art but it was the following that put me on this path.
In 1995 my daughter was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. I became involved in many aspects of her school life at the request of school. Extracurricular activities were a major part of my daughter's life. Since I had marching band experience, I was comfortable with the music department at my daughter’s school. I actually taught marching at this school prior to her attendance. She was involved in musicals and plays, even her elementary years. I was attending all of her practices, so they put me to work. Over those years I was trained in lighting design and took many cast headshot photos.
After discovering a passion for lighting and photography, I wanted more, to push myself to become excellent! I started to attend workshops and trainings relating to all aspects of photography. Also, I have purchased video series in photography training. Yes, I have invested in myself while acquiring tools that help me sculpt light and create beautiful images. When I look back on those early images and compare them to ones taken over the past few years, I realize my work went from mediocrity to excellence. I have come a long way baby, to coin a phrase.
Since I started, I have worked with many organizations, on their design staff. I have photographed in the most challenging lighting conditions…. in the theater! I have worked with hundreds of people creating exceptional photography. I am positive that I can put my experience to work for anyone!
My website www.charlesmosseyphotography.com, host examples of my images as well as my blogs. I am the creator of People Of Saratoga’s Track (POST) and “scootertography.” POST is all about what makes Saratoga Springs special… the people. Scootertography is a mix of my love of scooters and photography. It is my journey, the people, their bikes and our experiences on two wheels.
