Switching to Lightroom

After years of using Aperture, I am now switching to Lightroom. Partly because I get it free through the adobe creative cloud subscription, but also because the creative control and file organisation kills. Itmeans the prospect of a fully organised non app specific photo collection is now a potential dream. Also the creative opportunities within Lightroom are easier to grasp, as the processing on these two flower shots show, the noise and clarity tools area amazing in Lightroom, check it out if you haven't already.

Hello to 500px and here's an image to celebrate

So may make this my photoblog base, as like what I see here. To celebrate Here's a tonemapped image from 3 (handheld) exposures on my 7d then mushed in photomatix and colour corrected in Aperture. The good thing about this technique, is that it helps get round the fact I was shooting in the middle of the day.
