About me Cynthia Perdigao:
I have a very deep love for flower photography and other macro photography. My Tamron 90mm lens almost never leaves my camera and I can be found belly down in a garden or meadow or beach. Great subjects are everywhere and will reveal themselves if you are "seeing/looking".
The physical-ness of photography is sometimes a challenge for me. Disabled at the age of 6 by a stroke, I have significant weakness on my left side. For the most part I am someone that "adapts". My ability to overcome my limitations is rarely in question. Most of my work is done on a tripod, for this reason.
I have been involved with Spaulding Hospital in Boston and was asked to show work in their Peace Art Gallery during a show of four photographers in Spring 2011. The things that define me as a person are often interwoven with my photography. This includes struggle through physical pain at times. I hope that that is visible when you look at my work.
I have been fortunate to work as a freelance photographer for the Tri-Town Transcript Newspaper this year. Some of my images can be seen online at Wickedlocal-topsfield.com or in the Gatehouse Media gallery here on the website.(I have many more than what are featured there) I have met so many wonderful people during my shoots. All images, once published by the paper are available for purchase through me. I can't wait to continue my work with them.
I very recently had work hanging at Free Movement Spa and Salon in Beverly Farms, MA. As well, I participated in the holiday shops at the Shops at 90 Washington in Haverhill, MA. Please check back soon as there will be some new locations showing my work and a store that will feature my greeting cards soon.
I will be speaking at the New England Camera Club Council Conference in Amherst, July 12, 13, 14, 2013. Please check my website for details.
