Daniel Rochat

From April 2002 to August 2012, I served with the Royal Canadian Navy and was based out of the beautiful city of Victoria, BC. Throughout my 10 years in the Military, I was given the opportunity to travel all over the world, from the sunny beaches of Hawaii, to a war torn Afghanistan. Since returning from over seas in 2011, I decided that I needed to take a leap of faith and pursue a more creative path.

There had always been something about photography that interested and inspired me. It wasn't until the more recent years that I really started to push myself and learn as much about photography as I could. It transformed from a hobby into a passion that I couldn't ignore.

I decided to take an all or nothing approach to photography which has led me to enrol at Western Academy of Photography here in Victoria for the 2012-13 year. This type of training has allowed me to get my feet wet in all forms of photography and help me become the great photographer that, one day, I hope to be. Until then, I'm gaining as much experience as I can and have had images published in Seaside Magazine, Victoria News and The Lookout newspapers. I'm also part of the team as a Contributor and my concert photography can be seen there as well. Of course, none of this could be possible without the support of my wonderful wife Lindsey and my beautiful daughter, Juno.
