I love Australia. I wanted to live in Sydney since the first time I visited there. I loved it so much that I went back two more times after the first time. Having many friends in Australia was a bonus, but the city of Sydney was the perfect mix of fast pace cosmopolitan big city, with friendly people, with a gregarious drinking culture.

These photos are from the last time I visited Australia, where I was able to venture beyond Sydney and see the beach town of Cairns located on the Great Barrier Reef.

I went to Istanbul in March 2010. I saw a cheap ticket to fly there from Houston so I decided to take it. That's typically how I travel, find cheap air fare for a specific time frame and pick which ever country is within my budget and the most interesting.

I love traveling over seas, especially to places where I dont speak the language and Istanbul was such as place.

Being a photographer and interested in art and art history, Istanbul was the perfect destination. Center of civilization for the Roman and Ottoman Empires, and the hub of the spice trade for east and west. Istanbul was everything I imagined and dreamed of, the people were very nice, the food was simply magnificent, and the scenery was beautiful.

I hope to go back and stay longer on my next time in Turkey.
