First of all, welcome to my portfolio! I am a serious hobbyist in arts/photography, I am not and never “claimed” to be a professional photographer. I have been learning from friends, books, articles and every opportunity I have to be taught by a fellow artists. I am very open to feedback, let me know what you think I can improve upon and I will gladly accept the advice. One can only learn and improve if constructive feedback is given and absorbed. I was born and grew up in Minas Gerais – Brazil, which is where my love for photography began. As a child my dad and I would take pictures on vacation with his simple “point and shoot” Kodak camera. Back then that is all we had-equipment and film was too expensive; but we made the best of it and so my passion began. At the beginning of my Dslr photography journey, I used to bracket my shoots. Nowadays, the dynamic range can be easily manipulated in Photoshop, so I mostly have abandoned the need for bracketing. My love for photography took off dramatically when was I given a digital SLR camera, which has allowed me to bring me to print all the colors and beautiful scenes that I was seeing. All my pictures are post-processed. Some might say my work is “artistic, edgy”, and that is my intended goal – to start with a photograph and transform it to a visual art creation. I never called myself a “photographer”, but a better description would be “visual artist.” I love to use filters, and long exposure photography as I can capture one element that conventional photography does not: time. I myself cannot totally explain my pictures, all I can say is: they are my vision, my dreams and that is what I want my audience to see as the final product. I currently work as an Systems/Requirements Engineer at a biomedical company that designs and manufactures cancer diagnostics instrumentation. I live in the beautiful state of Arizona. Thank you so much for your feedback and time, I appreciate it very much!
