The Florida Keys

This is the first of three posts on a holiday in Florida in January this year. I'd heard a lot of great things about the birds in Florida - how they are incredibly tame and how every beach would contain a wealth of interesting species. Having followed the great American bird photographer Arthur Morris for several years, and seen his photos from hotspots like the Anhinga trail, Fort de Soto and Ding Darling, I was hoping for great things. I wasn't disappointed.

This is the first of three blogs, focusing on the 3 days we spent on the Florida Keys. They really are an interesting place - a long string of narrow islands connected by bridges. There are many state parks to visit and lots of beaches. And plenty of birds...
