All my life I've been in love with photography and cameras. My first one was an Ansco Panda, which was given to me for Christmas when I was about 11 or 12. There have been many cameras since then. When I was 17, I purchased a used Voigtländer twin lens reflex. Since then I've had a succession of 35mm cameras, including SLR's. I switched gradually to digital about 9 years ago. I'm now a retired man with a back condition, so have attempted to keep gear as light as possible, yet have good quality. My cameras and lenses of choice are now Olympus four-thirds and four-thirds micro and the best of the lenses. My main love is landscape and scenic photography, but do other things at times also. For post-processing and organization I depend on Adobe Lightroom, sometimes making a slight detour to Photoshop (less and less these days). For the past few years I've donated some of my good quality landscape photos to charity benefit auctions of various sorts, and will continue to do so. I do my printing on a very good Epson photo printer, or have them printed by Aspen Creek Photo. I consider a good print to be the end product of the photographic enterprise. By the way, I love the Epson printers.

The Cars Next Door...

Published December 26th, 2012

The area where I now live is the home to many wonderful automobiles, exquisite in design, and manufactured with care. Within just a few miles of where I live are several museum where these cars are displayed and celebrated. The Auburn Cord Duesenberg Museum is one of the most famous. Others are dedicated to the Hudson, another Studebaker.

Also large classic car auctions are held each year near Auburn, Indiana. Also in Auburn is an annual festival dedicated to these cars.

So... this is in an area rich in automotive history, legend, and restored classics.

My purpose is to show some of these cars here at this site, adding one or two at a time. From time-to-time I visit some of the shows, festivals, auction yards, and museums hoping to capture the beauty and class, with photographs, and with it the telling once again of the great stories and another era.
