David Puth

For more than three decades, David Puth has led a successful career in the finance industry, serving in various high-level roles with such major companies as JPMorgan Chase & Co. and J.H. Whitney & Company. He additionally acted as the Chair of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York’s Foreign Exchange Committee. In his current position as the Chief Executive Officer of CLS Group Holdings AG, David Puth brings to bear his expertise with world currency markets as he leads a company that settles more than 70 percent of foreign exchange trades.

As CLS Group’s CEO, David Puth oversees the mitigation of settlement risk through the company’s innovative foreign exchange trading system, a payment-versus-payment model in which member banks contribute to the stability of the markets while enjoying considerable savings. During the 10 years since the company’s founding, CLS Group has participated in the post-trade settlement of more than $7.7 quadrillion in 17 different currencies, from the U.S. dollar and the euro to the South African rand and the Swiss franc. CLS, which was created through a global partnership of financial firms and banks, continues to focus on the importance of maintaining stability in the FX markets while providing a wide range of services to member banks and third parties.

In addition to his busy career, David Puth has been actively involved with a number of philanthropic causes and has served on the boards of several humanitarian, educational, and cultural nonprofit organizations. A member of the Board of Directors at the Robin Hood Foundation for nearly 15 years, he helps to steer the group as it identifies and funds organizations that reduce poverty and homelessness across New York City. David Puth is also the Vice President of the Board of Trustees at the Berkshire School, serves as a Trustee for the Institute for Contemporary Art in Boston and sits on the Board of Directors of the Institute for Global Leadership at Tufts University, his alma mater.
