Artist’s biographical note
Dimosthenis Gallis was born in Athens, Greece. A self-taught photographer, he has been studying and serving this discipline for more than 20 years. His photographs are hosted in the permanent collections of the American College of Greece, the Athens Municipal Gallery, the Museum of Greek Folk Art and the Cavafy Museum in Alexandria, Egypt as well as in private collections in Greece and abroad. He presented the following personal exhibitions: "Alexandria", City of Athens Cultural Centre and Contemporary Balkan Art Galery, Kondias, Limnos (Athens, Limnos 2013), "Nakedness", Polychoros Aggelon Vima (Athens 2011) and "Time-Nature-Man", EOS Gallery (Athens 2009). He also took part in the following group exhibitions: "Cheap Art 13 ", Kodra x-Camp (Thessaloniki 2011), "Cheap Art 16", A. Antonopoulou Art Galery (Athens 2010), “Dialogue in B&W and Colour”, Ochrofaio (Athens 2010), "Men Colour and Iron-4", Perama Shipbuilding Zone (Pireaus 2010), “Exhibition for the Support to the Workers of Perama Shipbuilding Zone, Polychoros M. Loizos (Nikea 2009), "Silent Dialogues: Multimedia Portraits throughout Time", American College of Greece-ACG ART (Athens 2009), International Art Biennale of Young Artists, Mgarr (Malta 2001-honorary distinction) and "The 150 Years of St. Andrew's Skete of Mount Athos", French Institute of Thessaloniki (Thessaloniki 1999-2000).
