Life along the River

Published April 2nd, 2012

I once work on this mall behind it, there is a small river and I never ever think about it let alone noticed it, until about a couple of month ago when a friend asked me to join him on a walk around the river.

So I walked there and took notice and it was a real eye opener about life and how I looked at it and appreciate it more. How lucky I am to have my life, I saw families live in a 2x3 meter room, a 2x2 room for rent, people are taking water from the river to bathe and wash their utensils and clothes.

Enjoy life, there's a lot of less fortunate people striving to be in our position and they willingly go through 'hell' to have a meal for the day for their family.

Lets Play Clay

Kids are playing by pretending they are building a house from a torn down houses, mainly for development or expansion of a mall or apartment.

Watch Over

The Sister is looking over the little one. After school she hardly found time to play or study because she must look after her brother as their parents are working.

Play Ball

Playing soccer or football is a trend here, but they lost their playing ground now because of the rubble.

Flea Hunting

Mother is checking up her daughter for flea.

Life as they know it

Kids were playing in the ruble with their friends or family. They have no proper playing ground but somehow they still enjoying what they have.

I don't know where the owner is, I tried to look and search but no avail.

Making a recipe

Grandma was grinding some herb while the little one is looking around.

Water on my backdoor

houses are built over the river. making the river even smaller and more shallow.

a 2 by 2 meters room for rent just above the river and upon them is another room also for rent. the writing on the wall means, please conserve water.

This is a one meter alley, the left wall is the 2x3 meters room and the right wall is the mall foundation.
