I have been shooting as a Digital Photographer sine 1999. Along with the artistic side of the shooting the photograph, I really enjoy the technical side of what Digital Photography has evolved to today.
My two main areas of interest have been landscape photography, and macro flower photography.
The technology side of the equation comes into play on the macro flower photographs through a process called "focus stacking". Each flower photograph is a combination of the 25 to 30 shots of that particular flower, combined together through a software process to produce a macro photograph with total clarity. See my blog for a more detailed explanation of the focus stacking process.
Technology also comes in to play on my landscape photographs. Some of the photographs are shots via a process called High Dynamic Range, or HDR. This is a process that allows the photographer to capture a scene with a dynamic range (shadows to bright areas) that is larger than the camera can capture with a single shot. Some of theses photographs are a compilation of 5 to 7 shots, each shot with a different exposure value.
Another side effect of the HDR process is that if a photograph is run through the process multiple times, it will produce a look that is termed as "painterly". Some of the photographs in my collection are done under this process and are marked as such.
