I love to take pictures because it allows me to capture special moments in time worth remembering. The infinite possibilities on how to beautifully and truthfully capture these moment will always make photography an exciting, challenging and fulfilling profession. Every since I picked up my first camera, I have always been eager to press the shutter and create my next image. I have been taking pictures for a very long time, but only recently started making images. I am, and will always continue to be a student of photography. There is so much to learn about making an image. You will always challenge your creativity to find ways to improve each and every image you take. Making an image worthy of second glance takes more than taking a snapshot. I am currently exploring numerous areas of photography to find my niche in the vast world of photography. I hope in time I will find my true calling and delve more for an even closer look.

Stock Picture Workflow Automation

Published March 8th, 2012

I recently stumbled upon a website which took my thoughts right out of my head and made them a reality. It was one of those crazy things that you wish for when the status quo doesn't quite cut it, but wouldn't think someone would bother to implement as it seems so tailored to your specific needs.

I have always been quite annoyed at the numerous hoops I had to go through to submit my images to the different stock agencies that I subscribe to. Most of them have ftp access which made things a lot easier, but managing which of the files were successfully submitted, and which didn't make it became a task on it's own. I tried to sift through different ftp clients to make my life easier, and I found fileZilla to be the top contender which was free to use and fit my needs for the most part. It still didn't relieve me from the confusing part of managing the overall progress of each image on each stock site.

The other problem is the actual file transfer itself. If you don't have unlimited hig ...

I wish I had more time in Rome

Published January 11th, 2012

Rome is a very beautiful city with so much history to show. Walk around downtown Rome and you will feel like you went through a time machine which fuses the present with the past. Rome certainly has character. It is very photogenic and I would encourage anyone who happens to pass through Rome to take a day or two to explore the city.

I was a transit passenger connecting through Rome and instead of picking a flight which only had a two hour connection, I chose to stay over for one night and see Rome with my very own eyes. The one thing I regretted was the fact that I only had one day to view this magnificent city. I now have a new favorite in my bucket list of places to visit before I depart.

Stock Agencies

Published October 27th, 2011

Hello Everyone

This is my very first blog, and I am not sure where to start, so I figured I will begin with my new obsession, Stock Photography. I am not sure what I am trying to get out of it. I know it is not money since the amount of time I spend on it when compared to the very little earnings I have received is comparable to a drop in a bucket. Never the less, I still am trying to get as many pictures accepted into as many stock agencies as I can find. I have set a first goal of reaching 2000 on the easy sites and 500 on the sites that are very picky. I have between 100 and 300 images on the sites that I really care about, and close to 500 on the once that are not as critical but still showing some potential. There is one site which I have not managed to get a single image accepted into, and another one which has only accept about 10 of my images, and both these agencies have almost no market share in the stock photography world.

There are a few sites who are very very strict in ...
