Don Johnston

Don Johnston is a Canadian nature photographer and teacher with 30 years experience in photography. He lives in Lively, Northern Ontario. He travels extensively in Canada and the USA and is widely published in books, calendars, advertising and other media. He is represented by All Canada Photos, Agefotosotck, Grandmaison Photography, Interphoto (Munich), PhotoEdit (California) and Alamy (UK). Don has covers for Canadian Geographic and National Geographic (Explorer) magazines. Don placed images in 3 National Geographic wildlife calendars for 2012, even making the cover of their Cougars 2012 calendar. Recently Don won two prizes in the prestigious National Wildlife Contest (2011 pro division). In 2010 Don self-published a coffee table photography book titled 'Close to Home'. In 2011 Don taught a nature photography course at the Niagara School of Imaging. Always active, Don has recently visited the Oregon Coast, Cape Churchill, BC's Chilcotin grizzlies, Cape Churchill polar bears, Lousiana and South Texas, and the Grand Canyon (rafting trip).
