My involvement with photography has lasted for longer than I care to mention, although I was schooled in the use of film I embraced the digital age very early on. I would describe myself as a discerning Black Country photographer, one who sees digital imaging as a tool rather than a box of tricks. My approach to photography is spontaneous – seeking to recapture for the viewer the same mood and atmosphere that drew me to the subject in the first place.

I’m the founding member of the DAPA GROUP, a small but growing group of photographers, who share a passion for image making. DAPA Group caters for the more experienced photographer whose work covers a wide variety of subject matter and styles. In January, 2008, DAPA Group joined the Midland Counties Photographic Federation (MCPF), which is affiliated to the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain (PAGB).

As an enthusiastic exhibitor I have been fortunate in having many of my images accepted into British Photographic Exhibitions (BPE). In October, 2011 I was awarded my fifth British Photographic Exhibition Crown Award (BPE5*), having gained more than three hundred acceptances in UK National Exhibitions. In December, 2010 I was awarded a distinction from the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain (DPAGB) and shortly after, March, 2011, my Excellence distinction from the International Federation of Photographic Art (EFIAP).

Most of my exhibition work now centres on portrait photography, but I also have a passion for digital infrared photography too. I am currently working towards my Masters distinction with the PAGB and if all goes according to plan I will have my adjudication in November 2012.
