David Eckels

Having left a long career in biomedicine and with no formal training in photography, I have discovered what is obvious to many that photography is about seeing. Of course once you have seen it, or I should say, once your subject has called to you, you must know what to do with it; thus the digital darkroom. While I am mostly about landscape, I am surely intrigued by anything visually interesting although I hardly ever do people. These are selected from my favorites of the past few years and I try to show a range of interests. The dark side of the digital darkroom (no pun intended), however, is that it is too tempting to go way overboard in my view, even though I often try to achieve a somewhat painterly result in some images. Too bad there is no way to show how much joy I derive from taking pictures and processing them.
