Ed Kuryluk is a professional photographer from Fairfield CT. His numerous awards from juried competitions span several decades. His work is regularly seen at the Fairfield History Museum and the John Sullivan Town Hall in Fairfield.
During 2009 - 2011 Ed embarked on a photographic journey to make images of Ferrari automobiles. His mantra through this period was "no cars on lawns". Thus, Ed traveled to more than a dozen race tracks and Ferrari Club of America events around the United States to find these fine automobiles in motion. He attended amateur racing events such as the Ferrari Challenge featuring the Ferrari F430 Challenge or Shell Historic events where owners put their rare and unique Ferraris of years past. While the vehicles were the central to each image, the subject were the people involved: drivers, pit crew and fans. It was their action and emotion that continued to inspire Mr. Kuryluk. Over 7000 images were captured, and the best were featured in the 2010 and 2011 Maximum Ferrari calendars. Many of these photos will now be posted on 500px.
Looking towards the future, Ed is learning the art of portrait photography. Portraits, a subject he has not spent much time with, present a new challenge and he is looking forward to learning all he can from the other members of 500px.
