Eugene Master

Hello, I'm a science student in Denver, CO. Due to studies, I don't always have time to go out and photograph. But when I do, I like to photograph portraits of people the most. I also like to experiment with different things like IR filters, night exposures, Photoshop, etc.

What I really like to look at in photos while browsing is if the photo tells a story.

Beyond that, I look at composition, technique, tones, and expression (especially in portraits). My favorite part of a portrait is eyes; colorful, piercing eyes. Otherwise, I typically like photos with an off-reality tone to them. Colorfully-dark shots are my absolute favorite. I'll usually favorite photos that I think are very memorable, tell some sort of story, or that use some cool technique that I want to try. I also enjoy seeing Photoshop-processed works with interesting manipulations. I feel the purpose of B/W photography is to portray emotion directly through the expression of the subject, or through the composition of the photo itself. In such cases, the warmth of colors would only be distracting. Therefore, I also appreciate B/W works.

I usually favorite a photo if it:
1. tells a really interesting story (memorable)
2. matches the style of photography I like
3. uses a cool technique that I'd like to try
4. is a good addition to my idea-book

If I favorite a photo, I will also always try to leave a comment on what I specifically like about it. I would appreciate the same in return as it helps me better critique my own work. :)

I usually add people to my contacts if:
1. I know them personally
2. I keep stumbling upon their photos on Explore or within galleries or other sites. That tells me there's something about their style I really like, and I'd like to learn more from them.

That being said, if you Favorite one of my photos, please make sure to have your photos available for display. If you have nothing to show, or if your work is blocked, I will be equally blocking you. Sharing is caring.

Watermark: Typically I am against the idea of placing a giant watermark across a photograph. However, I have found some of my photos randomly distributed online with absolutely no connection back to me, or even posted as someone else's work. More than anything, I care about protecting the models in my photos. Since using a watermark seems to be a strong way to deter such actions, I feel obligated to use this method.

I shoot for personal enjoyment, not for commercial purposes. My photographs are posted with All Rights Reserved. Although my photographs are published in the public domain it does not mean they are public property or free stock images. If you wish to use my photographs for any personal or commercial interests, please contact me. Thank you very much.
