I had the pleasure of shooting the wedding of my good friends Lauren and Mike. It was a bit of an Acadia reunion, with some NSCC folks thrown in, while also being a Newfie & Caper mashup. Needless to say, it was a great time. Despite it being the rainiest weekend all year, it was a beautiful day.

Oceanstone Resort

Published March 11th, 2013

Oceanstone Seaside Resort is a few minutes down the road from Nova Scotia's most famous landmark - the Peggy's Cove lighthouse. It's a gorgeous, tranquil retreat that offers waterfront cottages, an inn with rooms and suites, and a lovely restaurant called Rhubarb.

My wife and I have had two stays in the past three months and plan to return in the summer. It's the perfect place to truly get away from it all, and it's less than an hour from downtown Halifax.

Winnipeg in July

Published November 24th, 2012

I traveled to Winnipeg in July to visit my father who was working on a reno job at the Mint. I was pleasantly surprised with the architecture and all the amenities the city has to offer. The Forks is an incredible spot for just about anything - running, picnics, shopping, eating, taking in the scenery, etc.

Winnipeg has its share of issues, to be sure, but it is a beautiful place and I thoroughly enjoyed my visit.

Fisherman's Cove at Sunset

Published June 14th, 2012

Fisherman's Cove is scenic and authentic bit of Eastern Passage. There are many fisherman based out of the cove, and at the base of the long wharf there are restaurants and shops. Adjacent is McCormacks Beach Provincial Park, with a nice boardwalk and beautiful views of Halifax Harbour.

I got a few shots at both places, but I can't wait to go back. There was so much to photograph, but the light was fading quickly. I am thinking it would be a great spot for some portraits, and I'd love to get some detail shots of the boats and fishing gear, and maybe some portraits of the folks who work around there.
