Filippo Nativo is an Italian Creative Director/photographer based in Toronto, Canada.
After graduated at FIT (Fashion Institute of NY) he started his career as a fashion designer for Italy, Japan, France, Belgium and USA. In 1993 Filippo decided to expand his vision and moved his creative direction to work with one of the most reputable advertising agencies in Italy: Leader/Intersystem. After his collaboration with Leader, Filippo yearned to combine his knowledge in advertising with fashion. He decided to branch out and moved to Milan in 2000 where he opened his own agency: Public Eye, an advertising agency specialized in fashion and luxury brands.
In Milan Filippo used to work as a photographer, as well as, Creative Director by side other photographers, merging his talent with other artists and never stopping to learn and evolve his style. Filippo was in charge with the creative direction and set design for Mifur fashion shows (Olympic Games – 2007, Rock FURore – 2008), two massive events with 18 fashion designers and over 1200 guests at Fiera Milano. The collaboration between big fashion business exhibition and Filippo started in 2000, with the creative direction (advertising and Trend Book) for three editions of MIDO (the most reputable eyeglasses business exhibition in the world). In 2009 Filippo was the Creative Director for the worldwide Premier of Maserati Grancabrio, in Frankfurt, a top of the notch co-marketing with Damiani Jewellery and Gianfranco Ferrè. Speaking of style, Filippo’s photographic fundamentals are deep-rooted in the Golden Era of photography, represented by unique Masters like Albert Watson, Peter Lindbergh, Bruce Weber, Koto Bolofo and many others.
Lover of photography in black and white, after a long experience in high end post-production, now Filippo prefers the “Organic” look. He loves to use the computer with the same vision that he used for decades in the dark room.
Filippo is an eclectic artist who loves to blend the sense of beauty – that he developed working in the fashion industry for so many years – in several genre of photo.
In September 2014 Filippo has published four full pages in the “50th Anniversary Special Edition” Vogue Italia.
