I reckon I'm just one of the oarsmen on the ship of life. All I can ever see is what's visible through my oar slot. I'm chained to that bench and pushin' and pullin' all day long, every day, every year, summer, fall, winter, spring. All I want to do is catch a glimpse of the outside. Mostly just water anyway, I suppose. It seems like I don't have the sort of sight to see what's out there. I see only what's in front of me and it never changes.
I'll never see what so many of you find. It's sad.
On the other hand, your photographs are what keep me going. Maybe someday the vision will come to me, maybe not. In the meantime, I can see what's out there through all of you.
