I have been shooting photographs since well back into the 35mm film days. My first SLR was a fully manual Canon TX, a college graduation present. A few years later I traded that for a Canon AE1 Program, my first "sophisticated" camera. As a 20-something without much money I shot mostly slides and Tri-X, which was comparatively inexpensive to process. As the years passed I learned the fundamentals of photography in fits and starts with long periods away from shooting. After many years of distraction and boundless energy spent in other pursuits, I returned to more serious photography in 2005, buying an early Canon Rebel DSLR which brought back to me all the passion of youth for photography. It has been a great joy to continue to learn and grow as a photographer and artist.
In addition to my work in photography, I am a working jazz pianist, accomplished software engineer, graphic artist, avid cyclist, art collector, husband, friend, caretaker, careful listener, and student of many things. If you enjoy my work seen here half as much as I enjoy yours, my purpose here will have been fulfilled many times over.
Very best regards,
