A Panasonic GX1 goes to Malaysia...

Yes! I love my DSLR gear - but sometimes I think all this stuff could weigh a lot less and it's so bulky. No! Not when I'm going to do a planned shooting, drive around by car or for short trips. But when I'm going to travel and want to visit many places my bulky equipment bugs me.

So I wanted to give a mirrorless system a try.

My equipment for my Malaysia trip:

Panasonic GX1 with viewfinder

Panasonic 14-42 Pancake

Panasonic 20/1.7

Panasonic 100-300

Olympus 9-18 (I wish I had the Panasonic 7-14 :))

Olympus 45/1.8

First: I was really surprised by the delivered quality, by the viewfinder after getting used to it and about the face that I won't give it away anymore. Yes - it is a compromise between quality and weight but a really great one! If you rarely go beyond 1600 ISO quality is great and up to 400 ISO I'm so happy with it.

None of the lenses disappointed me. I wish I could have afforded the Panasonic 7-14 too but the Olympus proved its very good co ...
