Andrés Magai Seibt is a photographer, journalist and adventurer. He is part of the Spanish SanDisk Extreme Team, an elite group of professional photographers selected for their particular vision of the environment.Also Spanish Olysmpus Visionary.
Enjoying the world of photography since his youth, Andrés has managed to turn his hobby into a lifestyle. He is a tireless traveler, with a passion for wilderness, adventure and discovery of different cultures.
Born in Lima – Perú, but with Spanish nationality, Andrés lives in Madrid, Spain, from where he plans out his numerous photographic journeys to a wide range of exotic and interesting places on the planet.
As a result, Andrés manages an impressive and continuously growing photo library (500,000+ photographs) covering a wide selection of themes, ranging from cultural journeys to social interest, people, nature and wildlife. European, African, Asian as well as American cities have all been carefully documented by this talented photographer who also dedicates a lot of his time to his country of adoption : Spain.
Eager to share his extensive experience in this type of travel, Andrés organizes each year various Photo-Safari workshops for professional and amateur photographers alike, taking them to various places across Africa, America and Europe. Let us mention his annual expeditions to cover the great Wildebeest migration though Tanzania and Kenya, that have always enjoyed a great success.
Co-authored with Rafael Marquez, “Cuadernos de Africa,” is the first book written and published in Spain, extensively covering the world of photography and safaris.
His work has been published in a large number of magazines of nature, travel, as well as general information.
At present, Andrés is a regular contributor to Paraisos magazine, Rutas del Mundo, Clio, Ronda Iberia, Super Foto, and to newspapers’ travel supplements; he also participates in various radio programs.
Andrés mainly works with Olympus digital cameras in 4/3 and m4/3 formats, in addition to different brands of compact cameras, with lenses from 8 mm up to 500 mm f.2,8 and always with SanDisk memory cards.
