Creative portrait and commercial equestrian photographer based in England. Most of my concepts are created inside my head; I gain inspiration from music, things I see out and about, or simply the way I view the world.
In mid 2009, already working as an established car photographer, a friend invited me to try photographing their horses. It became a more interesting challenge working with an animal that had its own mind and mood, different from day to day. Photographing an animal that didn’t always want to stand still, meant I had to find new solutions, which were very different to my previous work involving stationary objects!
I enjoyed the challenge so much, and it felt like I’d finally found the missing link to my photography: the ability to connect with the owners and put my own stamp on the work.
At the start of 2012, I took the decision to work on producing creative portraits for clients and a large personal project (Modern equine family). It’s been an amazing year. The ability to have worked with some amazing horses and owners has allowed me to continue working in a creative direction, pulling concepts and ideas from different genres of photography, fashion, society and place it within a photo.
