Welcome to (some of) my images. I have been taking pictures since I was around 7. In college I bought a professional Polaroid camera, and that was very educational. A year later in college I was fortunate to be able to take over a years worth of classes in photography which was in the Art department. I bought my first Nikon at the beginning of those courses. I only did black and white for the first 6 years after getting my first Nikon - then I added color by shooting slides for a long time (until digital came along).
I had my own darkroom for years after college, but eventually switched to slides only. Very soon after graduating is the only time I entered photographic competitions - an international and a regional and a local one. I got ribbons at two and nothing at the local one. Not bad. After my first professional job that was in the field from which I graduated, ended - I sold prints as a "fine art photographer" at Eugene Saturday market and craft fairs up and down the Willamette Valley in Oregon. At one point I opened a gallery in Waldport - Nova Gallery One. Later when I became CEO of a C corporation, I took all the product and advertisement shots, and again I did that as CEO of Bheka Yoga Supplies, Inc. I sold photos on Amazon through BYS, Inc and had a catalog of affirmation prints in addition to images alone. When I sold the company, I took a break.
I have lived in a lot of interesting times and lovely places - and I usually took lots of pictures. In 1999 I embraced digital printing starting with the release of Lyson's archival inks for the Epson 3000 - the world's first accessible archival photo inkjet printer. Since then I have used Canon's iPF5000, Epson's 3880, and Canon's PixmaPro9000 MKII. I acquired my first Nikon film and slide scanner during this time, and began digitizing my earlier collections. I waited until 2006 to get my first DSLR - a Nikon D200. I have had several NIkons upgrades since.
I appreciate your support and votes and favs. Because of my experience in the Art department's photography curriculum, I still love experimenting and creating. Photo cards and prints are available at Etsy and Ebay from time to time.
