Gary live in Mount Victoria high in Australia's Blue Mountains. He has a photography gallery in Mount Victoria, runs workshops in the Blue Mountains and his works appear in magazines, news papers, commercial websites, stamps and large sets of prints around Australian homes and hotels.
He tries to find beauty in our world and has travelled extensively in Central Asia, Europe, US, Hawaii, Australia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Canada, North Africa, Turkey and many more places. His work varies from travel, abstract, landscapes, street photography, studio portraiture, virtual worlds, musicians, events and much more. He enjoys capturing the land bathed in glorious sunrise or sunset light in less trodden places.
From his late teens he spent many years using medium format film cameras including Mamiya RB67ProSD, Mamiya 7 series, Pentax 67 and Fuji plus he used a large format 7×5 inch camera for a few years too. Gary became proficient in medium format chemical darkroom techniques through the 1990s but in the early 2000s was one of the first photographers in London to switch to professional digital with the Canon 10D. He progressed to the Canon 5D3 with L series lenses, Fuji X100s and Canon EOS M as his main ‘location’ kit but now he exclusively uses the Sony a7r2 and Sony a6000 as backup. He currently uses a 4×4 Toyota to get deeper into the Australian bush and is often seen walking back through thick bush in the near dark after another momentous sunset session.
