Qualcosa ti sfiora, hai sfiorato qualcosa, e così per un'istante rimani, perso nel tempo, in un attimo eterno...
When I was 19 - in 1983, just for fun - I bought a Zenit-E from a collegue. So I get started with my experience in photography, moved by curiosity and wishing to afford new languages.
I am a self-tought man both for economic reasons and for the deep feeling of learning all by myself how things work. And in addiction, as I grew up between Po river and a small village among the rice fields of the Po valley, I necessarily had to use my personal resources of smartness and fantasy.. So from the inside of a culture that from rural was getting a factory worker one, with my Zenit and a lot of enthusiasm I was looking at the world from a new point of view.
In the meanwhile I grew another great passion. In 1975 Pink Floyd released "Wish you were here" and I , having before been a listener mostly of Italian music, was dazzled in the very moment I heard those musical notes. And following those new chords I started discovering the magic and wonderful world of Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix ed Eric Clapton, John Mayall, Janis Joplin, Bob Dylan, Jefferson Airplane, The Doors...and all that unknown started to enlighten me.
From listening to practising the step was short, I became a drummer. Yes, I took some lessons, but I kept on being a self-tought man. So many days on the instrument took me to find wondeful fellow trippers with I could play for many years on. My trusted Zenit changed its role in my life: from a life inquirer instrument to a simple recorder of events, until I ended abandone it in a dusty drawer.
After ca 30 years, following my wife Nadia in her passion for Marco Mengoni, I started again living a concert by another and a shot by another, catching the joyful smiles of happyl people until then...you know, old passions never die! The energy that shakes me at each click shows me again how much I loved it. Maybe after 30 years , in a different way, it's even more dazzling.
So from another collegue I bought a digital reflex Nikon D 70 and another world widened its doors for me and my enthusiasm was turned up again with new emotions. I have been practising for one year with the new technology making experiments ( and also by studying ) a new way of thinking about photography. Then I passed to a D90 joining my two passions of music and photography. This thrills me up at every new concert I attend.
I feel very lucky. I really have found my way of living deep and strong emotions.
My wish today is that everyone passes by from here could get a feeling looking at my photos... at least the same intense joy that I feel behind each "click".
