Gianpaolo Bucci is an Italian filmmaker active worldwide in socially engaged projects.
While working for RAI Radiotelevisione Italiana over the last decade, he has also developed a broad range of independent projects, among which two theatrically released long feature films and several short films screened at Med Film Festival in Rome, Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Festival, IFCT in Washington, Seoul International Film Festival and Intl Journalism Festival in Perugia.
Recently he worked first in London with a VII photographer and a BBC journalist on social reportages and documentaries; then in Los Angeles, where he was invited for an artist residency at the 18th Street Arts Center. He is currently based in Rome, where has established collaborations with NGOs for filming social reportages and carrying on educational projects.
The most popular among his projects is: (IN)VISIBLE CITIES , a documentary series about African migrants communities settled in 13 different cities of the world. The first episode was filmed in Cardiff, Los Angeles and New York, finally ending up in the cosmopolitan Istanbul.
