It all started with a Leica camera – and the sea. 8 times did I cross the Atlantic, my precious Leica always ready for a shoot. It was on the wild ocean that I learned to see. And I learned that exploring was what I wanted to do – but not necessarily limited to the realm of wind and waves. I started professional training to become a photographer. After, I worked in a prestigious photo studio in Hamburg, got to know some oft he most famous photographers, delved even deeper into the art of seeing.
Then I made the jump into the world of catalogues.
Again, new shores to explore. I did it all: Fashion, Still Life, People and then I came back.
After 20 years I said good bye to the world of luxury and reclaimed what once got me started: The beauty oft the real world. It felt like another crossing of the ocean. What draws my interest today is travel, editorial, people and architecture.
It’s a fun fact that on following these things I happen to find myself quite often at the place where it all started:
The shores of the sea, the harbour of my hometown – Hamburg.
Still a lot to explore …
