Henry Lydecker

I'm a part time photographer when I'm not at my "day job" as a PhD student at the University of Sydney (I research tick ecology).

I do event photography and outdoor/location portraiture. I usually use natural light but having control over light is fascinating and I want to incorporate that more into my portraiture.

Wherever I go, I bring a camera with me so I can take street photos (usually my x100s). I love to create cinematic looking street images, usually minimalist and high contrast.

However most of my personal works focuses upon depicting the environment, nature, and the power of time. I strive to capture moments of impossibility; things that could not be seen by the human eye or perceived in a moment: from long exposure landscape images to extreme close up images of animals.
