Welcome to WideBrightPass Photgraphy. I named this website after my first name. My first name consists of two kanji (Chinese characters); “Hiro” means wide or broad, and “Aki” means light or bright.
So how can I categorize myself as a photographer? Whenever I have time, I go out with my camera and shoot anything I find interesting. Having said that, Since I reside in Calgary, Alberta, foothills of the Canadian Rockies, why not taking the geographical advantage? Photographing the beautiful nature and landscape of the mountains has become my passion. At the same time, I still like photographing people, and I am constantly adding family portraits and fashion photos in my portfolio.
I have started digital photography in 2009. At the same time, I still take pictures with film cameras and take a 4 by 5 large format camera to the field. One of the most enjoyable times for me is my own Zen experience in a darkroom.
Hiroaki is the Winner of Stampede Western photo competition 2011 - Western Landscape Theme.
