For more than 30 years (with long stretched interruptions) I am trying to MAKE images, as opposed to just 'taking shots'. Ansel Adams spoke straight from my heart when he said exactly that in his famous quote. Things have evolved quite substantially since then. What we could do in the darkroom those days seems like very limited fumbling in the dark (quite literally!) compared to what is now possible in scope as well as in precision.
So here is how I think of MAKING pictures: When I go out with my camera I am not making pictures yet, I am collecting data. That is just the first and shortest step of a long process(ing) involving advanced information technology to finally arrive at something you might call an image. Going along these lines I have arrived at some images which I found worthy to show here.
While my landscapes show how it might have looked BEFORE we humans came, my cityscapes show the look when we are there, and my Urbex images show places AFTER we have left again. By a simple before-after comparison you can judge for yourself how good the human species is for our planet...
