Agniva Chakraborty



Agniva Chakraborty, a self-taught photographer based in Kolkata. He started off his photographic career in the year 2008 by shooting randomly along with small groups and friends interested in photography. Street, portrait and still-life photography are what excites the creative impulses in him. Clicking with passion did finally pay-off for him in the guise of an offer by Mr. Anjan Dutta, a renowned Bengali film-maker, who gave him a chance to work in his venture "Ranjana ami aar ashbo naa" and Agniva doesn't plan to look behind. These days Agniva shoots Documentary Photography, music concerts, working stills for movies and portfolios.

Dev Deepabali ~ Varanasi, 2013

Dev Deepavali is the festival of Kartik Poornima celebrated in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India. It falls on the full moon of the Hindu month of Kartika and takes place fifteen days after Diwali. The steps of all the ghats on the riverfront of the Ganges River, from Ravidas Ghat at the southern end to Rajghat, are lit with more than a million earthen lamps (diyas) in honour of Ganga, the Ganges, and its presiding goddess. The gods are believed to descend to Earth to bathe in the Ganges on this day.
