My love for photography began nearly 30 years ago. It was, and it continues to be, my escape and fuels my creativity every time the shutter closes.
My story is simple. I wanted to begin taking pictures, specifically portraitures, but I found many of the more experienced photographers were unwilling to help and share their secrets. Yet, I continued to gain knowledge about the world behind the lens. I attended several workshops hosted by the photographer, and now great friend, Art Ketchum.
Through Art, I came in contact with many great photographers, in particular, Bill Lemon, one of the best glamour photographers I know. After spending time together and building a friendship, we began hosting workshops. I made the move from 35MM film to medium format and then to digital photography, in addition to entering the world of Glamour and Model Photography. Another great photographer I was able to learn from was Ray Sopcruk, who is extremely talented and full of a tremendous amount of knowledge on studio lighting. Together, we opened our own studio in Western NY. During this time, I completed several courses at the Rochester Institute of Technology on Photoshop and have now been able to host my own workshops on the program. I currently use both Photoshop and Lightroom and offer instruction in both.
After my retirement, I relocated to North Carolina and am inspired by the wildlife this area has to offer. Glamour and Model photography is still a huge part of my photography life, but I’m currently focusing on Wildlife and Nature Photography
