No Deadlines

That's what I love most about doing these independent projects. Without a deadline, without other assignments and without any pressure, I can really take my time and get it right. I spent three hours setting up and getting this particular photo the way I liked it. It still isn't something I'm 100% satisfied and happy with, but it will do for being a first project.



It's been a while since I've spent the time to really light something and get it right, so it might be a little clumsy, but we'll let you guys decide.



Now, to figure out what to do with the 11 roses I have left...

Nikon SB24 - 1/4 power, 85mm zoom, snooted, Storrao Red gel. Camera right, shooting down and across the base.

LP-160 - 1/8 power, 105mm zoom, 1" gird spot, snooted, Scarlet gel. Behind and beneath the subject, shooting up into a white cloth doubling as a seamless.

Mini Maglite - Front wrapped with black foil with a small shred of Kleenix stuck inside to soften the light. Lightpainted the rose.
