I believe that life is about the experience - the experience of fishing on a quiet river, hiking though the mountains, or tasting great food. I also believe that all great experiences are better when shared.
I have “been” many things in my life – baseball player, hunter, fly fisher, bike racer, or mountaineer. Each of these activities has brought incredible adventures and experiences. However, they pale in comparison to being a parent. Parenthood has enhanced my journey of life tremendously in ways I never could have imagined. Everyday my kids give me the joy, curiosity, appreciation, the test of endurance, and route finding that I seek in my outdoor adventures. Even after three years since my first child was born and a second at home as well, I am still blown away by the fact that I get to see it all. I get to see them become who they are, who they will become, and what they enjoy. I get to share these experiences with them whole heartedly, celebrate their successes, comfort them on their failures, and help them learn from their mistakes.
I still dream about catching a steelhead on my fly rod in the Clearwater River in Idaho and climbing glaciated peaks. I also spend just as much time dreaming of playing with my kids on a sunny beach in Mexico. As all great things are better when shared, I love sharing these experiences from my adventures, whether it is in the mountains or a bubble bath for one of my cherubs. I tell my stories by posting photographs on my personal blog, creating albums for the grandparents, and covering my walls with large prints. I want to help you share your experience tell your stories the same way.
Whether it is a day at the beach, casting a line on a river, or simply being yourselves at home, I want to help you preserve your memories of these experiences and tell the stories to others today and in years to come.
