Jan Møller Hansen
Jan Møller Hansen is an international award-winning photographer - visual story telling and social documentary. @janmolhan
From 2007 to 2012 he worked in Bangladesh. During spare time he went around in Dhaka and other cities with his cameras photographing women, children and men living in slums, acid survivors, transgenders, labourers, ship breakers and other oppressed and marginalised people in Bangladesh. Through the lens he wanted to explore reality and to learn about people and their lives.
From 2013 to 2016, he lived in Nepal photographing women and children living in slums, brick kiln workers, ethnic groups, Bhutanese, Tibetan and urban refugees and many others. He has in-depth knowledge about Nepal and the Himalayan region and speaks Nepali.
Presently, Jan works as programme manager for a humanitarian mine action and safer community programme in South Sudan. He is a development and humanitarian worker and a former senior diplomat. He has lived and worked long-term in Nepal, Vietnam, Bangladesh, South Sudan and UK and been on numerous assignments in Africa and Asia.
In 2015, he published the photo book "Images of Nepal." Jan has attended a few trainings by the VII Photo Agency, Magnum, British Journal of Photography and Grundtvig High School, Denmark.
