Looking back on an amazing year: Best photos fr...

Published December 29th, 2012

2012 is almost over and I'm looking back at my most successful year of images yet. It was extremely hard to narrow down my favorite images of the year and I finally settled on a "baker's dozen" since we're going into 2013 (story mode only lets me post 10). I plan a later post with more images featuring all my gallery worthy photographs from 2012. I had the good fortune of seeing more of the country this year than any previous one including a trip east.

Here is some interesting info from my travels in 2012:

Miles Driven: I don't know the exact amount but based on my odometer and rentals it was probably more than 20,000

The Canadian Rockies

Published September 10th, 2012

Some of the amazing highlights from my trip to the Canadian Rockies. I visited many of the iconic places as it was my first visit and I wanted to capture the scenes the area is known for. What's one of your favorite places and why is it special to you?

Published August 30th, 2012

I'm almost done editing the photos from my Canadian Rockies trip and I have another to share. Seeing images of this place is what first inspired me to visit the national parks in the Rocky Mountains of Canada.

When I got to Moraine lake for sunrise I was so excited I practically ran up the trail to the viewpoint. The view was overwhelming and I wasn't paying attention to my footing, resulting in a smashed knee and blood gushing down my leg. This evoked stares and offers of first aid from the few other photogs up there, but I said no, I'm getting the shot, I'll deal with it when I'm done. I found the perfect spot, got the shot, and a souvenir to remember my visit ;)

Have you ever been so absorbed in a scene you forgot about your immediate surroundings?
