Perfect timing, getting out and going to Tompkins Square Park when I did. The Palm Sunday Procession, (presumably from St. Bridget's Church), arrived shortly and came right at me. It was a small procession, but a happy one. It did seem to spook a squirrel some and he/she gazed out at the whole thing from a very safe distance - a high up knothole in a nearby tree's trunk. Very startled expression on the furry one's face.
Yesterday was the day of pink bleeding heart flowers and today it was white ones I discovered. These were in the Avenue B garden. Funny, I didn't spot them yesterday.
In the park there was a young girl child determined to get on the tire swing. She wouldn't give up trying, but was so wee a parent had to help her out. Goal accomplished. It was all that red that encouraged striving I bet.
One of the last sounds, and then sights, before heading home was wind chimes. They were suspended from a fire escape step, perfectly positioned to catch the wind. They had a lovely tone that filled the air with blessings and refreshment. Caught them in the act of chiming, which was a delight.
