An assortment of equipment and work type themes dominated the eye-catching photo subjects in Manhattan today. Positions, colors, activities all combined and shouted out to be captured.
The welder working on the 13th Street side of a building going up was the most transfixing. We shared a glance or two across the great divide of Fifth Avenue and several vertical stories! Appeared to be a vintage man, i.e., older, with much experience and no apparent fear or tenuousness. Quite mesmerizing to watch him go about his craft in a full tilt position, body resting against a slanted beam.
The brilliantly red MACK truck with its logo and hood ornament was a wonderful sight, especially with the "Mario's Toy" etched across the front brace in yellow. This huge vehicle I happened upon right after I spent some time observing an insect who was exploring some ivy leaves on the church grounds and took a pick or three of it. Went from the very wee insect to the mega large MACK truck all in one 360 degree turn!
The workman sitting on a huge tire connected to a flat truck was another find. He looked exhausted, but content to observe pedestrian and vehicular traffic progressing along the sidewalks and streets.
Two white flowers, protected within the confines of the church's black metal gate, shared a bit of conversation and added a view of more gentle, calmer beings.
